Card issues
Lost or damaged PAN card? What to do next
A missing or unusable card does not usually mean you need a new PAN. Here are the sensible next steps.
Quick answer
Losing or damaging the physical card does not usually mean losing your PAN. The relevant path is generally a reprint or replacement for your existing PAN, not a new application. For a card that never arrived, ask CAREALL about the follow-up path.
Your PAN and your card are different things
The PAN is the identifier. The card is a physical copy of it. When a card is lost, damaged or stolen, your existing PAN generally remains relevant. That is why a New PAN Application is usually not the right route.
Next steps by situation
- Lost. A reprint or replacement path for your existing PAN is generally relevant.
- Damaged. A damaged card can generally be reprinted. If a detail also needs changing, mention it, as that may need the Correction / Update route.
- Stolen. Be careful with anyone who contacts you asking for OTPs, passwords or identity numbers. A replacement path is generally relevant.
- Not received. Do not start a new application. Ask CAREALL about the follow-up path for your earlier request.
Protect your information
Never share OTPs or portal passwords through messaging apps or with unexpected callers. If someone claims to be helping with your PAN and asks for these, stop and check with CAREALL on the published number.
