Keeping your PAN, Aadhaar and OTPs safe

What to share, what never to share, and how to recognise requests you should refuse.

3 min readLast reviewed

Quick answer

Never share OTPs or government-portal passwords with anyone, including through WhatsApp. Do not send PAN or Aadhaar numbers or document images in a first message. Share information only when CAREALL requests it through an approved route.

Never share these

  • OTPs (one-time passwords), for any service
  • Government-portal usernames or passwords
  • Bank account, card or payment details through chat

This website never asks for them, and neither should anyone helping you through it.

Wait before sharing these

  • PAN number
  • Aadhaar number
  • Document images or scans

Your first request to CAREALL needs only your name, mobile number, preferred language and the service you need. CAREALL tells you if anything else is genuinely required and how to share it safely.

What this website does with your details

The request form on this website checks your entries in your browser only. It does not send or save them. If you choose to continue on WhatsApp, the prefilled message contains only your selected service, request type and preferred language. You can review it before sending.

Warning signs

Be cautious if anyone:

  • asks for an OTP or password;
  • promises a guaranteed PAN, approval or delivery date;
  • claims to be a government office while asking for payment through chat;
  • pressures you to act urgently.

If in doubt, call CAREALL on the number published on this website.
